How many choices do we get.....

"Life constantly hands us those two choices: get busy living or get busy dying. Which will you chose? . . . Someone once told me the difference between a rut and a grave is this: a rut has a little more room to move around. When I find myself in a rut, I know I better get out fast before it becomes a grave." -Regina Brett

The above quote was recently brought to my attention by a friends social networking post, and on the surface most people are going to see this as inspiration and uplifting. I on the other hand think of it as wrong and contributing to much of peoples sufferance, something I wrote about in a previous blog. First of all if you are not dead, you are alive. Simple fact. Accept it. Not accomplishing every goal you set out for, or not making a great moment happen in everyday of your life does not mean that you are not living.  We get caught up in the rational that we have to live life to it's fullest. However, that rationale is inherently flawed. All you are doing is living life in a constant chase, and you will never feel relaxed. And you never will feel sated. Have goals, and accomplish goals. Just understand that is all they are. They are the future and eventually the past, and what really matters and what really defines living is now.
